When looking at fibre connectivity options the IT team were made aware of the lengthy timescales and wanted to explore options that could deliver robust and reliable connectivity to site quickly.
Starlink: a practical solution
Starlink was deemed to offer the best speeds and could be deployed rapidly across various sites. This is particularly beneficial for central London and city centre locations where fibre installation can be impractical due to long lead times and high costs. It also provides flexibility for any remote locations in McAleer & Rushe’s portfolio.
What’s been delivered
Onwave has installed a total of 10 Starlink High Performance kits across the McAleer & Rushe portfolio, all these connections have a back-up 4/5g router and LAN equipment.
This means that they have a failover option ready to go should they experience network instability or downtime.

At Onwave we work to ensure that the Starlink has a good line of site and can be installed in a location that has maximum coverage of the LEO satellites.
We handle delivery of all equipment and accessories including router, additional poles and other installation equipment.

As part of Onwave’s service for McAleer & Rushe, we provide comprehensive support including installation, decommissioning, device setup and management, and direct escalation with Starlink for any issues.
What’s next?
We’re exploring opportunities for further Starlink deployment with McAleer & Rushe, including potential expansion to their European operations with an installation planned for Dublin in the near future.
