Touch Tablets are on the way. I’ve been telling everyone for the past few months that such a device will not only be released this year, it will overtake the desktop and laptop industry during this decade and cause such an upheaval in the computing industry that we will declare this decade the “Decade of the Touch Tablet.”Of course, such devices have been released before, but with the conditioning of the masses through smart phones and personal MP3 players, the time is ripe. Not only is the technology better, the masses are ready for a device that is more portable than a laptop or desktop, yet not as limited as a smart phone.
Apple will lead this industry for years to come. Other companies that join in the Touch Tablet Races will play catch-up and will have impressive innovations that will compete head-on with Apple, but when we look back, it’ll be Apple that will have kept the competitive pace, at least until 2015. (As of this writing, I do not own any Apple products.)
I’ll continue to post more about the Touch Tablet revolution, including my view of how this will revive the publishing industry and professional news industry as well as spur the lucrative gaming and porn industries.
